Have you ever fancied dissecting a lifelike synthetic human corpse at a dinner party?

Well now you can as Anatomy Lab Live comes to Earls Colne's The Golf and Country Club.

The nationally acclaimed tour gives revellers a true "dinner and dissection" experience using VIVIT - the world's only semi-synthetic human cadaver.

Company director and qualified anatomist Samuel Piri said: "Whether you're a beginner, undergraduate student or practicing professional our hands on dissection will teach and refresh everything you need to know about human body.

"Ideal for those who are currently studying at university in a health or biosciences discipline.

"The experience is fast paced graduate level anatomy and physiology coupled with hands on dissection of real samples linking structure and function with various states of pathology."

Designed as a live postmortem experience, over the course of the evening teams are tasked with systematically exploring the major organ systems under the direction of an expert physiologist.

Those attending will be given mortuary wear along with surgical wear and tools such as scalpels, bone saws, forceps and scissors.

A question and answers section will also take place after the dissection and anyone with a wider interest in the human body is welcome at the evening.

Mr Piri said: "We do encourage all levels of experience to attend, there's plenty of time to see, touch, feel and dissect the samples as well as to ask questions to our academic team, the worlds only fully working portable dissection lab engineered for public display."

Tickets cost £79 per person including a two course meal. Discounted tickets for £70 per person are available for NHS staff or Nation Union of Students members.

The event takes place on Saturday, April 7, at Essex Golf and Country Club, in Earls Colne.

Doors open at 5.30pm with an expected finish time of 10.30pm.
