A woman has suffered life changing injuries following a crash in Hasltead.
A white Fiat Panda collided with a white Volkswagen Caddy van in Yeldham Road, today shortly after noon.
The driver of the Fiat, a woman in her 50s, was airlifted to Addenbrookes hospital with life changing injuries.
She is not thought to be in a life threatening condition.
The driver of the caddy van suffered no injuries.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "The road is currently closed to allow for recovery but should be reopened within the next hour.
"We apologise for the delay any drivers have experienced."
Police are looking for information on the crash, which happened at 12.15pm.
