A GROUP of dads are desperately searching for sponsors in a bid to keep their sons’ dreams of becoming racing car drivers alive.

Travis Domain, Jamie Davison and Mark Woodward are all dedicating their time and money to help sons Henry, George and Teddy take part in motoring events.

The three fathers and sons became friends when they met during races and have since formed a six-man team called Limit Racing.

Since creating the team earlier this year, the three boys, who are all aged six, have performed well at a number of race days and have even raced at the London Cup, which was televised on Sky Sports News.

But their dreams of a future career in motor racing could soon be dashed due to the costly nature of the sport.

Travis, who lives with son Henry in Sible Hedingham, said: “Sometimes you feel like you are fighting a losing battle.

“Motorsport is all about having money. The engines alone can cost around £580 and they need work done on them after 12 hours of racing.

“The boys could be better drivers than a lot of other racers but if other teams can afford to spend more on their engines then they are always going to win.

“It can be really frustrating. Getting sponsorship or funding would mean we can keep the boys competing at a higher level and racing for a lot longer.

“As dads we want to give the boys the best opportunity we can for them to keep on racing and having fun.”

Jamie added: “We can only go so far. There are people pulling up in Ferraris and with a team of mechanics and then there’s the six of us turning up with what we have.

“The boys love wearing the same stickers and same suits. They enjoy the adrenalin rush of the racing and are always congratulating and patting each other on the back.

“We just want to find a way to keep them happy and doing what they love.”
