I HAVE lived here since 1986 and am astounded by Greenfields’ response to the life-threatening fire here.

They are virtually denying problems with anti-social behaviour here, instead bringing up problems about household rubbish, completely irrelevant to the fire.

The recent fire was the third this year. The first in the drying room was minor, but the second destroyed the recycling bins and connecting fence and damaged the wall almost up to the roof.

On another occasion, stones were thrown at windows on the Bridge Street side of the building; a window on the stairs was broken, narrowly missing a man who was walking on them at the time.

We have written about the problems in the past and have been either dismissed or ignored by Greenfields.
