No trains will be cancelled despite strikes today and tomorrow, according to Greater Anglia.

The RMT Union is taking industrial action as part of a long running dispute over the role of conductors.

About 60 per cent of Greater Anglia trains run without conductors - mainly commuter trains into London Liverpool Street from Essex, Cambridge, Hertfordshire and Ipswich.

A statement from Greater Anglia insisted that contingency staff have been trained to the same standard as other conductors in order to operate the rest of the service.

Adding: "Greater Anglia remains open to talks with the RMT in order to avert further industrial action."
