A man has been arrested by armed police for assault and firearms offences.
Police received reports of a disturbance at a property off Forest Road, Witham, at around 6pm on October 14.
Reports said the man had threatened a woman and could be in possession of a gun.
A spokesman for Essex Police said: "Police have arrested a man on suspicion of an assault and possession of firearms offences following a disturbance.
"Officers received reports at around 6pm that a man had threatened a woman at a property off Forest Road and could have been in possession of a firearm.
"Armed police arrested the 23-year-old at the scene."
The road, which is less than a mile long, is close to New Rickstones Academy and Elm Hall Primary School.
The man has been bailed until November 7.
