A CAMPAIGN has been set up to help residents in the district who may be at risk from cold weather this winter.

The Warm Maldon Campaign is looking to support anyone who may face difficulties with the cold in the coming months, whether it is due to age, health, income level or housing status.

The campaign is backed by Maldon and District CVS, Maldon District Council, Essex County Fire and Rescue, Moat Homes and the Citizens Advice Bureau, and will run until February 2018.

Sarah Laskar, director of Maldon and District CVS, said: “This is the fifth year of running this warmth campaign and we want to make a real difference.

“There are lots of ways people can get involved including knitting and donating or helping to spread the word.”

The campaign will raise awareness of issues and provide guidance for keeping warm, safe and well during cold spells. It is expected to help hundreds of people in the district.
