THREE children suffering from cerebral palsy are set to receive a life-changing amount of money after a charity golf day raised £36,000.

Daniel Robinson and Sons, who have a base in Halstead, host a charity golf day every September to raise money for a host of good causes.

The three youngsters benefitting this year are 12-year-old Lyncoln Street, of Halstead, Summer Andrews, five, of Braintree and seven-year-old Aiden Thomas of Haverhill.

Phil Barrow, manager at Daniel Robinson and Sons, said: “Thank you to everyone who donated items, sponsored holes, played on the day, took part in the auction, made donations or gave their time’.

“Every penny will be used to help our three local beneficiaries, Lyncoln, Aiden & Summer in their journey to greater mobility, overcoming the difficulties they face from cerebral palsy in their lower limbs, by enabling them have intensive specialist physiotherapy not available through the NHS.”

Lyncoln attends Kids Physio Works in Copford every two weeks with money raised by his family, and savings from birthdays and Christmas.

But Lyncoln’s progress could be enhanced with the opportunity of more intense physiotherapy, increasing his independence and taking his dream of being able to walk a step closer.

Little Summer met Daniel Robinson and Sons alongside her twin sister and two brothers, and has the hope of getting up on her feet just like her siblings.

Aiden, another twin, has undergone surgery to improve his condition and is now working towards increasing mobility in his hip.

The funeral directors hope the money can make a life changing difference to all three youngsters.

Last year, the event raised £40,000 for youngster Lenny Pyne to go towards his intensive physiotherapy which is not funded on the NHS, and the youngster has made so much progress that he was on hand to walk unaided to the front of the stage to hand out prizes to winners.

The golf day was held on September 13 at Colne Valley golf club.
