Two people removed from car by firefighters after a crash involving three cars near Brentwood.
The crash happened on the B186 Warley Road at the junction of Eagle Road at around 6:30am this morning.
The incident has caused the road to be blocked and it has not yet been cleared.
A spokesman for fire service said: "Firefighters assisted at the scene of a road traffic collision involving two vehicles.
"Fire crews worked with paramedics to help release two casualties.
"The casualties were released by 7:45am and left in the care of the Ambulance Service."
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "Two casualties have been taken to hospital following a road collision in Essex this morning.
"The East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust (EEAST) was called at 6.38am today to reports of a three-vehicle road traffic collision in Warley Road, Great Warley, Brentwood.
"Two ambulances and an ambulance officer attended.
"Two patients with suspected neck and chest injuries were taken to Queen's Hospital."
