A GENEROUS eight-year-old is set to cut off her flowing locks to help children recovering from cancer treatment.

Chloe Kilany, of Halstead, currently has long hair but she will have it cut to shoulder length to donate to the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provides real hair wigs free of charge to children across the UK and Ireland that have sadly lost their own hair due to cancer treatment and other illnesses.

Mum Sara said: “She’s only had one real hair cut, so her hair is quite long, and it actually touches her bum.

“This started because she had heard stories about people doing similar things, and she was actually moaning a lot about her hair being annoying. I suggested donating it to charity and she loved the idea.”

Despite Sara’s initial suggestion, the mum has had more doubts than her daughter, who can’t wait to help “someone who needs it more than her”.

Sara added: “It is really pretty hair, me and my sister always said we would love hair like that, it’s like a mermaid.

“I tried to talk her out of it a bit, and said we could raise money another way, but she is determined.

“She is really looking forward to giving to such a good cause and making a difference.”

The haircut will take place on September 5.
