DISADVANTAGED children were taught how to fight fires by crews from Halstead and Braintree Fire Stations.
Essex County Fire and Rescue Service hosted a day of fun at St John Bosco Centre in Great Tey.
Run by the St Vincent de Paul Society the camps provide holiday opportunities for children from deprived areas.
Liam George, crew manager at Halstead Fire Station, said: “I am sure we will see many of these girls signing up to be firefighters when they are old enough.”
