HALSTEAD Dental Care was praised following its latest Care Quality Commission inspection.

After being assessed on July 4, inspectors found the service to be safe, effective, caring, responsive to people’s needs and well led.

The news is a boost for healthcare in the town with GP surgeries struggling.

The practice employs three dentists, seven dental nurses, one dental hygienist across five treatment rooms.

The report stated: “The practice had effective leadership.

“Staff felt involved and supported and worked well as a team.

The practice dealt with complaints positively and efficiently.”

While the practice, in Butler Road, passed on each category some areas of improvement were recommended.

Inspectors suggested the practice review audit protocols, review process for monitoring urgent referral, review arrangements for responding to patient safety alerts, and improve the security of prescription pads in the practice to ensure there are systems in place to track and monitor their use.
