VISITORS flocked to enjoy all the fun of a traditional village fair - and much more.

The Five Parishes Show, held in Langenhoe, included displays, music, a BMX and parkour show, dancers, pony classes and much more entertainment.

Nick Ridley, who helped to organise the event, said they may have reached a record turn-out.

He said: “There was a feeling that there were a lot more people than last year.

“The weather was great, and there were lots of entrants into the competitions.

“There was some really positive feedback to the entertainment in particular.”

He said there was a lot of praise from visitors who thanked organisers for another successful show.

He said: “The stallholders were also really positive about being there.

“The craft tent was also really busy, it was a pretty good show, it’s all heading in the right direction.”

New attractions this year included a children’s treasure trail, where children had to collect stamps from various attractions.

The show, at Fingringhoe Ranges, was also attended by a number of charities who were fundraising.

Other events included a car show and helicopter display, a knights’ archery display, birds of prey and a performance by the Funky Voices Choir.
