A NEW project has launched to help residents learn to live and eat well, without sending beyond their means.

Some of the volunteers that work with Halstead Foodbank have started the new Trussell Trust project.

Called EatWell SpendLess, weekly sessions take place at the Acorn Centre, in Beridge Road, Halstead.

The course aims to enable people to budget and save money, whilst also learning about health and safety when preparing meals.

Those taking part have so far cooked and prepared soup, burgers, couscous, pizza and fruit crumble, all of which are taken home with them.

Up to six people can attend and courses last six weeks, the next will begin in September.

Courses are completely free of charge and anyone interested can gain further information by contacting the Acorn Centre on 01787 477162.
