A CARE home team leader will take part in a 10,000ft skydive to raise money for those affected by dementia.

Jake Perrie, 41, has worked at Colne View care home, in Halstead, for two years but has worked with people living with dementia for 20 years.

Mr Perrie will take part in One Giant Leap, a skydiving day organised by Alzheimer’s Society, on August 6 to raise money for the charity.

He said: “I’ve worked with people living with dementia for over two decades – spending two of those years at Colne View.

“I’ve seen first-hand the effects dementia has on not only the people living with it but also on their families and loved ones.

“I’ve never done anything like this before and have to admit, I’m pretty nervous “It’s all for an amazing cause though, and I hope people will dig deep and show their support.”

In order to take part in the jump Mr Perrie has to raise a minimum of £430, so Colne View is hosting a programme of events in the coming weeks to help him raise the target amount.
