HALSTEAD was brimming with pride on Saturday as organisations and residents came together to mark Civic Day.

The national celebration of civic pride was marked across Halstead as the joys of the market town were highlighted.

Halstead in Bloom, Halstead 21st Century Group and members of St Andrew’s Church came together to litter pick, albeit slightly curtailed by the heat.

Pupils from Richard de Clare Primary School created a large banner showing their pride in the town, while the Ramsey Academy, and Resource Centre users created artwork.

Halstead & District Local History Society manned a stall on Market Hill all morning, talking about Halstead’s rich and varied heritage and history.
