A MAN was airlifted to hospital with a suspected broken collar bone, fractured ribs and chest injury after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
Emergency services were called to the roundabout joining the A131 and Broad Road, between Halstead and Braintree, yesterday at around 8.37am.
The road was blocked and traffic was heavy in the area until around 11am.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: "We dispatched two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance crew, and an air ambulance from the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance Trust.
"Medics treated a man, believed to be in his 50s, for a suspected broken collar bone, suspected fractured ribs, and a chest injury before airlifting him to Broomfield Hospital for further care."
