TWO engineers from Colchester tackled the three highest mountains in the UK to raise money for charity.
Linesman Steve Bridewell and engineer Mark Penson, from UK Power Networks, completed the Three Peaks Challenge.
The fundraiser was to raise money for the British Lung Foundation.
The two men from Colchester were joined by six others, and they completed the challenge within 24 hours.
As well as reaching the three peaks, Snowdon in Wales, Scafell Pike in England and Ben Nevis in Scotland , the team also reached their target of raising £1,000.
With only maps to navigate the mountains, they completed the challenge with 28 minutes to spare.
Mr Bridewell said: “It was tough, a lot tougher than I thought but some of the guys knew where they were going.
“It was definitely exhausting and we were glad to get down and get finished.”
