A SCHOOL has been praised by Ofsted as it continues its success.

Hedingham High School and Sixth form maintained its 'good' rating when it was inspected on March 7 for the first time since 2013.

The school was praised for a host of reasons with inspectors stating the headteacher and senior leadership team demonstrate dedication and determination, pupils talk confidently about learning and know their targets to improve and enjoy school as they feel ‘valued and well cared for’.

Despite the size of the school, young people were deemed to be well-known as individuals, with a number of parents commenting that the school has supported their children to reach their potential.

In terms of the school improving to reach outstanding, the report stated: “Robust support for disadvantaged pupils is put in place at key stage 3 to accelerate their progress so that they catch up more rapidly with their peers and improve their attainment at GCSE.

“The curriculum at key stage 3 offers the right level of challenge so that all pupils are well prepared to meet the higher expectations of the new GCSEs in all subject areas.”

Headteacher, John Panayi, said: “This is an exceptional endorsement of Hedingham School and Sixth Form which mean that we are judged as effective in delivering outcomes that provide the currency our students’ need, preparing them for the next stage of their education, training or employment. Our school and community thoroughly deserve this endorsement from Ofsted.

“I want to thank all staff, teaching and associate, for working so hard to achieve this success. I commend them for their professionalism, team ethic and commitment to the school and our students. I also want to express my gratitude to our Governors for their support and dedication to school improvement. This positive outcome is a true reflection of the excellent work we do at Hedingham School and is a boost for our community. I remain very confident and optimistic about the future of Hedingham School and Sixth Form."
