BURGLARS covered their tracks with Fairy liquid after breaking into a house in Halstead.
They smashed the ground floor kitchen window and ransacked the house.
They found a wall safe which they broke into and stole car keys for a grey Volkswagen Caddy.
They left, covering their tracks with fairy liquid, and stole the car.
Washing-up liquid is used to wipe away DNA from crime scenes.
It happened in Brewery Drive, between 1am and 1.44am on February 16.
