A MAN killed himself in his car, a coroner has ruled.

Samuel Wehmeyer, 22, took his own life at a business park.

At an inquest yesterday coroner’s officer David Dinnell told the court Mr Wehmeyer, who was born in Colchester and lived in Sudbury, had just started a new job the day before he was found by a dog walker on November 29.

He said: “He had no record of health issues and was not known by mental health services.

“On November 29 he was found slumped in the driving seat of a car.”

Police were notified and found the windows had been sealed and the car had filled with a poisonous gas.

There was also a bottle of Jack Daniels and a packet of Nurofen in the vehicle.

The car was parked at the Deans Hall Business Park in Little Maplestead.

A post mortem examination, carried out at Broomfield Hospital, and supported by a toxicology report gave the cause of death as carbon monoxide toxicity.

Essex Coroner Caroline Beasley-Murray said: “I have come to the very sad conclusion this gentleman intended to take his own life.”

She accepted he did not leave a note but stated his actions were clearly deliberate and planned.

She said: “This gentleman formed the intention and took a deliberate action knowing it would result in his death."

His family chose not to attend or to submit any family statement during the inquest at the coroner’s court.
