How do you make a student conference a little bit more exciting?

Thanks to Jack Petchey grant winner, Thomas Svensson, the Ramsey Academy Student Management Team headed down to Jump Street, Colchester, for their student conference.

The team went to Jump Street to discuss future plans for the school, but not before they took part in an exhilarating hour of jumping, and falling over.

Once they were all worn out, they took to the Jump Street conference room and had a discussion about improvements for the school.

The team decided to look at the area of toilets in order to improve and re-decorate them.

This project has now been put forward to the school's Leadership Team.

Lucy Stokes, Year 11, said: "We would like to say a big thank you to Jump Street Colchester for working with us and providing the activities, venue and food.

"We are looking forward to running more trips to Jump Street so students can experience many different ways to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle.

"Look out for enrichment trips to the new Chelmsford venue so students can use both the trampolines and climbing walls.

"Finally we would like to thank Mr Taylor for organising the event and Ms Riddleston and Mr Charlton for taking us and bringing us home safely.
