A MAN has been ordered to keep his dog muzzled in public after a woman was attacked.

Graham Cuddeford, 77, of Monks Ley Close, Great Maplestead, appeared at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on January 3 charged with being the owner of a border collie which was dangerously out of control.

The incident happened on April 18 on Monks Lodge Road in Great Maplestead and led to a woman being injured.

Cuddeford was made subject to an order requiring the dog to be kept under proper control.

The dog must be kept muzzled at all times in a public place, it must not be exercised between 8.30am and 9.15am and 3pm and 3.45pm, it must be kept on a lead on a public highway and must be kept on a lead at all times other than when it is being transported.

The order allows the dog to be allowed off the lead, if muzzled, in the fields at the back of Great Maplestead Village Hall.

Cuddeford must also pay £630.
