THE Stane Street Players are set to welcome in the New Year with their hilarious romp of a post Christmas pantomime.

The group will return to The Empire Theatre with their traditional pantomime Robinson Crusoe and The Pirates, by Paul Reakes.

In true Stane Street Players form, the pantomime will be guaranteed entertainment, full of laughter from start to finish with plenty of audience involvement.

Join Robinson Crusoe and his less well known brother Willy in their search for love and treasure; at home, on the high seas and in exotic distant lands.

Accompanied by their doughty mother, Ma Crusoe, the redoubtable Captain Bowsprit and his daughter Bessie, they encounter pirates at sea in the shape of Blackbeard, his sidekick Patch and their arch enemy, the wily Crimson Hawk.

Be enthralled as the hero survives being shipwrecked and goes on to meet the sea god Neptune and his entourage in an underwater lair.

See him make friends with Man Friday on a desert island before the pair go on to rescue Robinson’s friends and family, who in his absence have been having an exciting time with dangerous sharks, an amorous gorilla and a threatening medicine man.

Then rejoice with them in their happy ending as they all end up rich and in love.

With plenty of opportunities to sing along to the familiar and catchy songs, and dance if you so wish, this production will be a treat for all the family.

The pantomime will take place on January 20 at 7.30pm; the following day at 2.30pm and 7.30pm; January 22 at 2.30pm and on then January 28 at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

All tickets are priced at £9.
