THE Hedingham Singers will present their annual Concert for Christmas on Saturday, under the baton of their new musical director.

Their new musical director, Thomas Duchan, will be at the helm for the first time, and the group are hoping the performance will be better than ever.

Thomas took up the role as Musical Director in September, after previously joining the Singers originally as an accompanist in 2015, bringing with him a wealth of experience in the music industry.

The talented youngster studied music at the University of Chichester, focusing on piano, singing and conducting, and since graduating has been in constant demand as an accompanist, copyist, chorus master, or musical director.

He has worked on numerous productions for the Chichester Festival Theatre, Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, London and last year at the Colchester Mercury Theatre on “The Smallest Show on Earth.

Thomas was also involved in workshops during the development of “The Girls, the new musical by Gary Barlow and Tim Firth which opens in London early next year.

The concert features a programme of Christmas favourites and popular songs, and the audience will also get the chance to join in some of the traditional carols.

Also making a welcome return, is Wethersfield based professional musician and Jessie Tabor who captivated last year’s audience with her wonderful flute solos.

The concert takes place on Saturday at St Peter’s Church, Sible Hedingham starting at 7.00pm.

Tickets cost £10.00 each and includes mulled wine and mince pies and can either be purchased in advance on 07790 573435 or on the door.
