A TALENTED illustrator has set his sights on completing a series on Hedingham buildings of interest.

Will Dover, of Sible Hedingham, is planning to complete a series of “paper cuts” of buildings which are rich in history in the town, or are of local interest.

The 22-year-old has already completed Hedingham Castle, the Old Castle Hedingham Post Office constructed in the 17th century, The Bell Inn and a handful of others.

With the village rich in history, and even richer in historic buildings, Will is waiting to see how far this project will take him, admitting the options are almost limitless at this stage, especially with the potential to branch out to surrounding areas and even further afield.

Will said: “I have been paper cutting for five or six years now, but I traditionally do woodland scenes and that kind of thing.

“But I was looking at one of the buildings in the village and thought the old pillar style of the building would work really well.

“Hedingham really is so rich in history and has some fantastic old buildings which the residents really do enjoy.

“I have lived here all my life, and am very familiar with the area, sometimes you will see people stop to admire the buildings, so I hoped to capture that.”

The trained graphic designer has already had a positive reaction on Facebook to his first few designs, and is hoping to turn this idea into a long term project.

He added: “I have actually developed a bit of an extensive list of buildings I want to use now.

“I think this will turn into a bit of a long term project which I am looking forward to.

“There are a few buildings in Halstead that I want to do, and I definitely want to go to Rye as well as Long Melford.

“I believe in affordable art, and art being affordable so I definitely want people to have access to this.

"It is exciting and something I am really enjoying and quite passionate about so hopefully it will be successfully.”
