A CURRY house is trying to achieve a "new, friendly vibe" as new owners have taken over.

Humaiun Rashid and his uncle Samsul Ahmed are the new owners of The Curry Cottage in Head Street, Halstead.

Mr Ahmed was a chef at the curry house previously, but decided he wanted a bigger challenge.

Mr Rashid said: "We are waiting until January to give it a big launch and just create a different vibe.

"We want to give good customer service and make sure people feel comfortable coming to us.

"Whatever people want I will make it for them, I just want to make people happy.

"This is a new thing for me but I'm a curry fan, and my mum and uncle are great cooks."

Mr Rashid, 25, travels from East London to work at the curry house, but he and his uncle are looking for a home in Halstead soon.

He already does a lot of charity work and hopes to incorporate fundraising into the business.

He added: "I just want to spend time with Halstead customers and be a good friend to the community.

"I also want to work to achieve a five-star rating."

The curry house is due to launch a new website in January, with new menus.
