COURTAULD Halstead played host to Castle Hedingham for a friendly game of carpet bowls.
The hosts started the evening well and continued to win five games overall, with one draw and two defeats.
The performance of the night came from Roy Clemence's team, who won 5-1 in their first game and 11-2 in the second.
Terry Bocking's team followed by winning 8-3 in their opener and 6-2 in the second, while Bob Brace's team fought hard to draw the first game 5-5 and win the second 8-5.
Terry Barn's team also worked hard, but lost 8-3 and 6-2.
