AN INVENTIVE artist has transformed her garage into an art gallery and is preparing to launch her first home exhibition.

Georgie Roy, of Halstead Road, Gosfield, decided to open Goose Gallery as a way to display her art to as many people as possible.

The new Life Drawing Exhibition, entitled ‘All Shapes and Sizes’ will run until December.

Georgie said: “It has been a real adventure, and I am actually really proud of it. I support myself and sometimes you have to be creative, which is why I decided to transform the garage into a gallery.

“It has been quite a journey, but I am so happy with how it looks now, and hopefully it will prove popular.

“For me, it isn’t about selling my work, I want people to come and look at my art, enjoy my work, and hopefully it will inspire some people.”

The opening exhibition explores the human form in extremely diverse styles with mediums including pencil, charcoal, pastel, pen and ink, collage, acrylic, oil, monoprints as well as three dimension pieces of work.

The gallery also includes many bold, large works. There are 136 pictures on display, including 60 in the new gallery.

Georgie said: “Life drawing is one of my favourite subjects, and this allowed me a way of displaying them all together.

“I actually surprised myself at the sheer number I have, and the complete diversity of them all.

“I am lucky I can do something I love, and hopefully my work will inspire others.”

The gallery is opening to the public on October 22 and 23, and October 30 and 31, from 11am to 7pm.

Viewings can also be made on request by calling 01787 472803.
