A TEAM from the Royal Oak pub have raised more than £1,000 with a charity walk.
The group, who all either work or socialise in the pub, completed a 5km walk raising £1,045 for Essex Air Ambulance.
Holly Roe took over the pub in December, and wanted to continue her trend from her previous pub of completing regular fundraisers.
She said: "Being new to the area I asked the locals what charity they would like us to support, and they decided on the Air Ambulance.
"So now they will be our charity of choice and we will try and do a number of events throughout the year to show our support.
"At my last pub one of local gyms rented us two exercise bikes and we did a charity ride which equalled the distance from Scotland to Essex.
"I would like to do that kind of event again, it is a great way to raise money and you can get the whole pub and local residents involved.
"When my father passed away, me and my sister did a charity run for Havens Hospice in Southend and raised over £1,000 for them."
Holly completed her most recent charity walk with Georgia Munro, Mandy Whitnell, Becki Waight and Jane Pryke.
