The Ramsey Academy are celebrating record breaking GCSE results.

Building on the success and continued improvement of the last few years, 59 per cent of students achieved five A*- C GCSEs including English and Maths, an increase of 11% from 2015.

Particular improvements occurred in the English, Maths and Science subjects.

In terms of one of the new key measures; 63 per cent of students achieved A*- C in English and Maths.

The new progress measure, Progress 8, which includes English, Maths, Science plus 5 other subjects is +0.1.

This shows that students have made more than expected progress from their starting points in a wide range of subjects since joining the school.

Particular mention should go to Lewis Crow (6A*, 2A, 1B), Emma Gooden (3A*, 3A, 2B), Sam Hawes (3A*, 5A, 1B), Callum Turner (3A*, 5A, 1B), Lewis Brennan (1A*, 8A) and Lottie Wheeler (6A, 2B).
