TWO lucky students spent the evening as secret agents before their prom.

Jack Preston and Taylor Nicholson, from Earls Colne, were driven around in a Rolls Royce Flying Spur Cloud 111 on the way to their prom at Ramsey Academy.

Especially for the day a personalised number plate was made, reading JP 007.

The car was first registered to Roger Moore, who played James Bond in seven films between 1973 and 1985.

The two friends were then taken to Earls Colne Airfield to fly in a four seater 172 plane.

Jack, 16, from Halstead Road, got to fly the plane.

His godmother, Vicki Knapp, said: "Jack actually took control of the plane and had a small flying lesson.

"The boys loved it, they were so excited, not only because the car belonged to Roger Moore, but that was the first time flying in a small aircraft for both of them.

"We are so proud of Jack, and I am sure Taylor's family are of him too.

"They had an amazing experience, one they will never forget and I'm so pleased I could arrange something so different for their prom."

The prom was held at the Essex Golf and Country Club last Thursday.
