AN ART group surprised guests with cake at a coffee morning to support a cancer charity.
The Halstead Art Group, which currently meets at the Ramsey College in Colne Road, held the event in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.
Linda Smart, who is part of the art group, said: "The event went very well and we had a good number of people through the doors.
"Members of the Art Group turned out with their array of deliciously baked cakes and pastries and waited on the public as they arrived.
"As yet we are unsure of the exact takings but the charity looks like it will have a nice little cheque coming its way."
The event was held on Saturday, June 18, at the United Reform Church, Kings Road.
