About 130 people attended the grand opening of a boxing club after a £66,000 facelift.
Everything inside Halstead Boxing Club, in Factory Lane West, Halstead, was updated after it received a grant from Sport England in 2014.
The money went towards updating and replacing everything inside the club, even the heating and lighting.
Chairman and coach Chris Hague said: “It went really, really well.
“We had a good turnout that was much higher than we expected and the event seemed to be well received.
“There was a mix of members and their friends and families and some new members as well.
“The work at the club has really taken us to the next level and we now have people coming from all over to train here.”
The club teaches Muay Thai and boxing and was formed in 1947.
