A team of volunteers has worked hard to tidy up a conservation area in Halstead.
The group spent an afternoon last Thursday litter picking at Coggeshall Pieces, off Hawthorn Close, Halstead.
The local wildlife site includes an area of wet wood and scrubland as well as three ponds.
Plants of interest include six species of willow herb, blunt-flowered rush, pignut and cuckooflower, as well as numerous species of birds, spiders and moths.
The Halstead Conservation Coggeshall Pieces Group works to preserve and protect the area, holding regular working groups to litter pick, clear the ponds, maintain the vegetation and look after the nest boxes.
New members are always welcome to join, especially young people over the age of 18.
Those under 18 are also welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
