Halstead Police Station has been earmarked for closure.
Chief Constable Stephen Kavanagh announced the decision on Tuesday as well as a host of other service changes aimed at saving the force £63 million by 2019-20.
The Halstead station, in Trinity Street, was open between noon and 6pm Monday to Saturday.
Other stations being closed in the area include Witham, Southminster, Great Dunmow and South Woodham Ferrers.
Braintree will retain its station, with the hours reduced from being open 8am until midnight seven days a week to being open 9am until 5pm Monday to Saturday.
The number of PCSOs in Essex will be cut from 250 to 60 but ten new community policing teams will be created, working from each district policing area.
