Pupils took part in a ten mile sponsored walk to raise money in memory of a schoolmate.
The youngsters from Hedingham School and Sixth Form, in Sible Hedingham, tackled muddy bridleways and puddle-covered footpaths as they trekked to Gestingthorpe.
Once in the village, they enjoyed a picnic and enjoyed a rest before setting back to school.
The sponsored walk, which takes place every two years, is in memory of Arran Tosh, who died from a brain tumour over a year ago.
This year’s walk has raised more than £2,400 for buying a new minibus for disabled access.
Many of the 1,200 students taking part worse their bright green Smile of Arran T-shirts.
Year Seven student Aiden Pryke, of Sible Hedingham, said: “I was proud to be one of the first to finish the walk but I did get quite a few blisters.”
Chris Le Comber, of Sible Hedingham said: “I got very muddy because I walked through every puddle I could find.”
The walk took place on September 25.
