Pupils have raised more than £500 for a schoolmate.
Year Three pupil at Earls Colne Primary School, Lenny Pyne, has cerebral palsy which means he struggles to walk.
He needs to undergo a £31,000 operation at Portland Hospital in London so that he is able to put his feet flat on the floor as currently he walks on his tip toes.
However, the operation is not available for funding on the NHS, despite his doctor saying he needs to have it, and a fundraising effort has been launched at his school to support him.
On Friday, pupils took part in a fancy dress walk, where they could wear silly hats, to raise money.
