A motorcyclist who died after hitting a pedestrian and a car while speeding on the A131 was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis, an inquest heard.

Bryan Myers, 44, of Campbell Road in Witham, died on December 18 last year after hitting Hedingham School pupil Helen Harvey, then 16, as she was making her way to school, along with a Toyota Corolla.

The dad-of-five was travelling along the A131 in High Garrett towards Halstead at a speed of at least 67mph in a 40mph zone when he overtook another vehicle.
