Proposals for a new house in Beridge Road, Halstead, have been met with objections from Halstead Town Council.

An application was lodged with Braintree Council on June 22 to build a three-bedroom house on land adjacent to Beridge Mews.

A number of objections have been made by residents, including concerns about the loss of a wildlife habitat and trees that are currently on the land.

The trees are unprotected and not recorded as being of any significance.

At Monday’s meeting the town councillors did not object in principle to the application, but expressed worries about access into and out of the proposed property on a busy road with a primary school and children’s centre close by.
