A new priest has been appointed for Halstead.
The Rev Katie de Bourcier, currently assistant curate in the Great Baddow Team Ministry, will become priest in charge at St Andrew’s with Holy Trinity Halstead and team rector designate in the Halstead Area Team Ministry.
She succeeds The Revd Canon John Blore who retired in January.
Katie, who enjoys riding her dressage horse, Toby, reading and gardening, said: “I'm very excited to have been appointed to this role in Halstead.
“Having lived in Braintree for eight years before I was ordained, it feels like I am coming back to my old stamping ground in north Essex.
“I look forward to getting to know the town and the church, and to working with team colleagues in the neighbouring villages as we seek to share the good news of Jesus’ love in our communities.”
Katie was ordained in July 2012, following over 17 years as a civil servant in the Ministry of Defence, where she worked mainly in human resources and corporate services management.
She has previously lived in Braintree.
**Katie’s licensing service will be held at 7.30pm on November 10 at St Andrew’s Church Halstead.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
