A primary school has received a donation of £10,000.

Earls Colne Primary School was presented with the cheque from concrete manufacturing firm Milbank Concrete for new and updated resources for the pupils.

Melanie Vine, headteacher at the school said: “We were delighted to receive the generous donation from Milbank.

“It has allowed us to buy equipment to enhance learning which we simply couldn’t have afforded otherwise.

“There is a very strong sense of community within Earls Colne and this is a perfect example of community support.”

Andy Mayne, managing director of Milbank Concrete, said: "It has always been the board’s intention in times of success to give back to the community.

“The children are exceptionally deserving and we hope our donation will provide the school with new learning equipment that all of the students can benefit from."

It was presented during the school’s assembly on June 12.
