A village football club has been given £3,000 to help expand facilities.

Hedinghams United Football Club hopes to upgrade its existing facilities in Lawn Meadow, Sible Hedingham, by building more changing rooms, a community hall and offices.

So far, official drawings and documents have not been drawn up or submitted to Braintree Council for consideration.

Sible Hedingham Parish Council has agreed to loan the club thousands of pounds to cover initial architects and planning application fees.

Funding is available for the building work.

The council could consider moving to the club once the lease runs out on their current premises in Swan Street in July 2016.
