A veterinary clinic is opening its doors to those who helped save two critically ill horses found abandoned.

Catley Cross Veterinary Clinic, in Wickham St Pauk, took in piebald cob Gizmo and nursed him back to health after he was found underweight, hypothermic, dehydrated and had pneumonia in February.

This month the same team have rescued a red and white mare named Lara, who is making slow and steady progress thanks to donations from 450 people, amounting to more than £8,000.

Now the vets have announced that a family fun day has been arranged to say thank you to the kind-hearted strangers, who made the horses’ treatment possible.
