Halstead’s former PCSO has completed his 1,000 mile cycle challenge - despite having a fractured foot.
Brian “Eddy” Edwards, 63, cycled from John O’Groats to Land’s End to raise £2,000 for Help for Heroes.
His son, Andrew Edwards, 31, said: “I saw him on Tuesday and he was doing OK.
“He hoped to finish yesterday as he is already in Devon.
“He was cycling 90 to 150 miles per day, and carried his tent and everything he needs with him.
“He hadn’t arranged accommodation for the night, so when he gets close he just finds a house with a lot of land and knocks on their door to ask if he can pitch his tent in the garden."
