The parents of a roofer, who went missing from Kent five years ago, hope a Witham woman could provide the key to solving their son’s disappearance.

Matthew Green, known as Matt, was last seen at his family home in Sittingbourne at 8pm on April 8, 2010, when he told his mum and dad he was going to stay with a friend in London for the weekend.

When he didn’t return home, his disappearance was reported to the police on April 10.

His bank account has not been touched, and his passport has never been used.

Now exactly five years on from disappearance this week, his parents Jim and Pauline Green are hoping Matthew’s former girlfriend, called Jodie, could help track him down.

His parents remember that Matthew, who would now be 31, was dating Jodie, who lived in Witham and was a year younger than him, about a year before his disappearance.

It is thought that Jodie, who was born on September 26, 1985, started working at Stansted Airport shortly before or after they split up.

Matthew is described as six foot tall, of slim to medium build, has brown eyes and normally has a shaven head.

Jodie, or anyone with information who could help trace Matthew, is urged to contact the Braintree and Witham Times on 01376 334338.
