A man left in an induced coma after a brutal attack in Halstead has been let out of hospital.
Alex Todd, 44, was attacked in Butler Road, Halstead, following a night out at Scenarios in the early hours of February 28.
He was placed in an induced coma in Queen’s Hospital, Romford, following the attack.
His son, Luke, 21, said: “Dad's doing really well now.
“He’s walking but he’s a bit unstable at the moment.”
He was allowed home on Wednesday.
The attack shocked the town and has led to calls for a greater police presence at night.
A man, 30, of Halstead, and a second man, 27, from Sudbury, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm the day after the assault.
They are on bail until April 17.
