A Halstead dance school is saying a fond farewell to its founder and teacher after 50 years.
Kate Jackson, who founded The Jackson School of Dancing in 1965, is retiring after the show in March.
Kate, who has lived in Halstead for more than 50 years, trained as a professional dancer, appearing with the John Tiller Girls and Zion Angles amongst others.
She set up the dance school with just one pupil 50 years ago.
The school has been based at many locations - including the hall near to Richard de Clare School in Parsonage Street and The Priory - before settling in Halstead Football Club where she has been for a while.
