The Red Cross shop in Halstead is urging people to make last-minute donations for its Clean Start Appeal.
Money raised for Clean Start will change the lives of people in Kenya and Bangladesh, where 37 million people currently live without access to clean water.
More than 3.5 million people die needlessly each year from diseases, such as dysentery, cholera and typhoid, due to lack of access to safe drinking water, inadequate toilets and poor hygiene.
The Red Cross shop in Weavers Court, Halstead, has already received 1,069 bags of donated goods, putting it into the top 15 for donations in the country.
However, the charity is still hoping for more good-quality clothes, accessories and bric-a-brac to boost the appeal.
Donations should be dropped into the shop.
