A man is calling for greater security after his garage was broken into.

Ian Munson, 28, who has been a painter and decorator for ten years, stores some of his equipment in a garage in Abels Road, Halstead, which he rents from Greenfields Housing Association.

However, thieves cut through the three bolts on the door using an angle grinder and stole a jigsaw and other power tools.

Mr Munson, who lives near Abels Road, said: “Another three garages were also targeted.

“I don’t think they were watching me or anything.

“Luckily I don’t use this equipment all the time so it is not having too much of an impact on my job.”
